Support OCA with a PAC Contribution

The Ohio Contractors PAC enables the members of our industry to have a voice on important policy and transportation funding issues at the Ohio Statehouse. PAC funds are used to support candidates for statewide offices and the Ohio House and Senate who recognize the importance of heavy/highway construction and maintaining Ohio’s infrastructure system. So far in this legislative session, the Ohio Contractors Association has helped pass the ODOT budget bill and the new Turnpike bonding program, which over the course of 6-8 years will provide billions in new funding for road and bridge construction in Ohio. We have successfully lobbied in support of a ballot issue to renew the Ohio Public Works Commission bonding program, which will provide over $1.8 billion in new infrastructure funding over ten years. We have also successfully defeated efforts to raise competitive bidding and force account thresholds, allow local governments to use reverse auctions, and eliminate prevailing wages on government projects. These legislative successes are built upon relationships, which are enhanced by a well-funded PAC that allows us to support good government..
OCA works with state and local government leaders to raise awareness about industry issues. OCA's influence has resulted in the generation of hundreds of millions of dollars from highway user fees via the state's motor fuel tax and bonding programs, which have been invested in the upkeep of Ohio's common area highways. OCA was active in the creation of Workers' Compensation Reform, and is recognized as a front-line resource, voice, and champion for opportunities and issues that shape the way the industry operates in the state. While the majority of OCA's legislative activities are at the state level, we work with our national affiliates (the American Road and Transportation Builders Association - ARTBA - and Associated General Contractors of America - AGC - to deliver our voice about congressional issues critical to our state, such as federal highway funding.
