Passing of Former ODOT Director Jerry Wray

It is with deepest regret that we inform you of the passing of former ODOT Director Jerry Wray. Director Wray was the only appointee to serve four gubernatorial terms, sixteen years, as Director of ODOT – two terms with George Voinovich and two terms with John Kaisch. He was keenly focused on governmental excellence during his tenures making many improvements to the organizational structure and operation of the Department. Many OCA members came to know him well during those years and experienced a very good working relationship that he fostered both for himself and his staff. I was fortunate to work with Jerry during the Voinovich administration and can say he was a tremendous professional and personal mentor for me. At this time, his funeral arrangements have not been released. You can monitor the Newark Advocate for subsequent information. Please keep his wife, Eva, and the family in your thoughts and prayers as the experience this time of grief and loss.
