Chapter Updates
OCA’s Chapter Golf Outing season wrapped up with full participation and generous donations from members in the Toledo, Dayton and Southwest chapters.
It was a full course for golfers who hit the links recently at OCA’s Toledo Chapter Golf Outing held at Belmont Country Club and OCA’s Dayton and Southwest chapter’s outing held at Walden Ponds. Both day’s events were filled with camaraderie and friendly competition, along with contributing to the chapter scholarship and PAC funds!
The chapters appreciate those who supported these events by golfing and sponsoring!
Congratulations to the winning golf teams from both events, along with several contest and prize drawing winners. In addition to an enjoyable day of golf, $1,260 was raised for the Toledo Chapter PAC fund and $1,170 was raised for the Southwest and Dayton chapter funds. The events also raised several thousand dollars for their scholarship funds, which award students pursuing construction-related degrees in our industry.
We give a special thank you to our event sponsors including:

2025 OCA Annual Convention
March 5 -13
Milan, Italy
Hotel Principe Di Savoia
The 2025 OCA Annual Convention will be held in the heart of Italy’s fashion, design, and architecture scene. Milan, however, is the center of so much more. Located in Northern Italy’s Lombardo Region, Milan – known for fashion brands like Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Versace, and more – is one of the nation’s business and industry capitals, renowned for its history, fine dining (and gelato), and natural beauty.
OCA is offering an opportunity to experience it all at the 2025 Annual Convention. Just a few of the events and excursions being planned:
– Visit the historic opera house La Scala – which opened in 1778
– Tour the magnificent Duomo Cathedral – Italy’s largest and Europe’s third-largest cathedral, taking more than 600 years to build
– Visit Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” – painted between 1494-1498, it is considered the world’s most important mural painting
– Day Trip to Florence, Italy
– Day Trip to Switzerland
– Theme Day at Lake Como – nestled in the Italian Alps, experience why the lake’s shimmering blue waters have inspired poets, artists, and writers for centuries
– And more …
VAI A MILANO NEL 2025?
For more information about the 2025 OCA Convention and Milan, contact David Rule at (614) 488-0724, or by email at [email protected]. Full convention details and registration for the 2025 Convention will be released in early September, so prepare your passports now.

Central Ohio Skilled Trades Fair - Oct. 15 & 16
OCA members are invited to team with local building trades for the third annual Central Ohio Skilled Trades Fair Oct. 15 & 16.
Contractor Registration is Open!
OCA will be teaming up with local union building trades for the third annual Skilled Trades Fair to be held Oct. 15 & 16 at the Franklin County Fairgrounds.
Please see the flyer here for more details about the event including the address and time.
The trade fair is designed for career-center and traditional high school students who are interested in entering the trades and for those who are exploring career options. The event features hands-on, interactive exhibits to engage participants, along with information about how to apply for apprenticeship programs. Examples of stations set up for students to engage with include bricklaying, surveying, virtual reality experiences, drone flying and heavy equipment operating.
Last year, 4,000 local students came through the trade fair and we expect a similar turnout again this year. Students attend in groups of approximately 600 students at a time with set timeframes for each group.
If you are a union contractor or support the highway industry and would like to attend with a hands-on exhibit, please register here . For more information about the event, email [email protected].
